Dunkers Bio

Tyler Currie Bio

Tyler Currie’s path to the top of the dunk world has been built on style, creativity, and a relentless pursuit of perfection.

Born and raised in Hawthorne, California, Currie didn’t throw down his first dunk until age 17 on a low rim in his front yard. What followed was a rapid rise through the global dunk scene, where his smooth, effortless style quickly separated him from the competition.

Over the last five years, Currie has collected victories and appearances around the world, including multiple Quai 54 titles, NBA halftime performances, contests in Australia, France, China, and across the United States. Along the way, he developed a reputation for elite body control and signature creations such as the 360 Windmill, Fake Eastbay, and Ghost dunk.

Standing 5-foot-11 with a reported 48-inch max vertical leap, Currie has built his game around originality and difficulty. He believes those qualities are often overlooked in modern dunk contests, where simpler dunks can sometimes receive outsized scores. For him, a great dunk combines difficulty, originality, style, and execution on the first attempt.

While many dunkers are motivated by trophies alone, Currie is driven by a bigger vision: becoming the best in the world and building the life he wants for his future family. His favorite quote captures that mindset: “The difference between the impossible and the possible lies in a man’s determination.”

Now, that journey brings him to Dunkman. As one of the athletes helping launch the world’s first professional league dedicated to dunking, Currie sees an opportunity to compete against the best on the sport’s biggest stage. His goal is simple: win the Dunkman World Championship, establish himself as the best dunker in the world, and leave a legacy as one of the greatest athletes the sport has ever seen.
