Jonathan Clark Bio
Jonathan Clark has spent more than a decade redefining what is possible above the rim. Known throughout the dunking world as JClarktheJUMPER, Clark has built a career around creativity, versatility, and a relentless pursuit of the impossible.
Born in Los Angeles and now based in Fresno, California, Clark did not throw down his first dunk until age 16 at a local park. What started as a personal challenge eventually became a lifelong pursuit. Today, he is recognized as one of the sport’s most innovative athletes, combining elite leaping ability with a willingness to attempt dunks few others would even consider.
Standing 6 foot 3 with a reported 48-inch vertical leap and a remarkable 41-inch standing vertical, Clark has become known for signature creations such as Jonathan’s Wall, vertical dunks, and his iconic backflip dunk. His ability to blend athleticism, showmanship, and originality has made him one of the most recognizable figures in professional dunking.
Over the years, Clark has assembled an impressive list of accomplishments. He is a three time Celebrity Crunch Classic Dunk Champion, FIBA 3x3 Romania Dunk Champion, 2017 VBL Dunkfest Champion, and a two time Dunk League runner up. He also holds unofficial world records for an 11 foot vertical dunk and an 11 foot 8 inch outdoor dunk, achievements that showcase his extraordinary jumping ability.
Clark describes his style in one word: different. Inspired by legends such as Air Up There and Vince Carter, he believes versatility and experience separate him from other elite dunkers. He encourages fans to look beyond the result and appreciate the level of difficulty involved in each attempt. For Clark, a truly great dunk combines difficulty, finish, flair, style, and execution into one unforgettable moment.
Away from competition, Clark is driven by a desire to become the best version of himself while helping others do the same. A track and field coach as well as a professional dunker, he is passionate about developing athletes and firmly believes human potential is far greater than most people realize. His personal motto reflects that outlook: “Do the impossible.”
Now, Clark enters Dunkman as one of the sport’s pioneers and most respected veterans. He views the world’s first professional dunking league as a dream come true and an opportunity to help elevate dunking to a level it has never reached before. His vision of success is simple: make a living doing what he loves, provide for his family, and continue pushing the sport forward.
When his career is over, Clark hopes to be remembered as an athlete who accomplished incredible feats but never stopped raising the bar. More than anything, he wants people to respect the work, dedication, and passion he invested in the sport throughout his career.
