Dylan Haugen represents the next generation of competitive dunking, combining creativity, innovation, and a relentless commitment to pushing the sport forward. Born and raised in Blaine, Minnesota, Haugen threw down his first dunk at just 13 years old and has spent years developing skills that few athletes his age can match.

Standing 5 foot 11 with a reported 43-inch vertical leap, Haugen has built his reputation around originality. His signature dunks, including the Inverted Scorpion Over Person and Hide and Seek, showcase a willingness to explore territory that many dunkers never attempt. Inspired by Jordan Kilganon, Haugen has dedicated countless hours to studying the craft and creating new possibilities above the rim.

Despite being the youngest athlete in the league, Haugen has already compiled an impressive list of accomplishments. He has captured multiple dunk contest titles across the country and established himself as one of the sport’s most promising young talents. Along the way, he became the youngest athlete to complete the Hide and Seek dunk and the first person to land an Inverted Scorpion over another person.

Haugen believes creativity and difficulty should be at the center of every dunk contest. He feels that many fans and judges underestimate the complexity of transfers, tosses, and ball movement in the air, which often separate truly elite dunks from the rest. For him, the greatest dunks combine difficulty, power, and elevation while introducing something the audience has never seen before.

His motivation extends beyond personal achievement. Haugen wants to help elevate dunking into a globally recognized sport while continuing to expand the limits of what athletes can accomplish above the rim. He approaches that goal with the mindset reflected in his favorite verse: “Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and he will establish your plans.”

Now, Haugen enters Dunkman at the beginning of what he hopes will be a long and successful career. As a founding athlete in the world’s first professional league dedicated to dunking, he sees an opportunity to grow alongside the sport itself. His goals are ambitious: win a Dunkman World Championship, build a global audience, and help show future generations that there are still countless new dunks waiting to be discovered.
