Cameron Hazzard Bio

Cameron Hazzard may be one of the newest competitors in elite dunking, but his rise has been fueled by exceptional athleticism, relentless determination, and a belief that his best days are still ahead.

Born in Lewisville, Texas and now living in Dallas, Hazzard first dunked at age 15 at a local park in Frisco. What began as a passion quickly turned into an obsession. Within a remarkably short period of time, he developed into one of the most explosive young athletes in the sport, building a reputation for powerful off the dribble dunks and elite vertical ability.

Standing 6 foot 2 with a reported 49-inch vertical leap, Hazzard has already assembled an impressive collection of signature dunks, including the 360 Inverter Eastbay, 360 Behind the Back, and 360 Under Both. His athletic gifts have allowed him to progress rapidly, but he believes his greatest advantage is that he is still early in his development with enormous room to grow.

Inspired by athletes such as Donovan Hawkins and Darius Clark, Hazzard has quickly established himself as one of the sport’s most promising young talents. One of his favorite competitive experiences came at the Jordan Jumpman event in London, where he had the opportunity to perform on a global stage and see firsthand what the future of professional dunking could look like.

Hazzard believes style is often overlooked in dunk contests. While many fans focus solely on the dunk itself, he believes the way a dunk is performed is what separates great athletes from elite ones. For him, a truly great dunk combines power, height, complexity, and creativity into a single moment that feels impossible.

His motivation is simple: be better than he was yesterday. Whether in athletics or academics, Hazzard constantly challenges himself to improve. He embraces the mindset reflected in his favorite quote from Luke 12:48: “To whom much is given, much is required.”

Now, Hazzard enters Dunkman as one of the youngest athletes in the field and one of the sport’s rising stars. He views the world’s first professional dunking league as a historic opportunity to help grow the sport while testing himself against many of the athletes he once watched from afar. His goals are to continue pushing the limits of what is possible, build a name for himself, and prove that he belongs among the world’s best dunkers.

When his career is over, Hazzard hopes fans remember more than his dunks. He wants people to remember a competitor who overcame injuries, embraced the grind, and showed that with enough passion and persistence, anything is possible.
